Disclaimer

**Gaharu Export is a sourcing broker and bilingual information hub for Indonesian gaharu (agarwood) — not a CITES or BKSDA permit authority, and not a licensed financial, legal, or tax adviser. Everything published here is general guidance. Legal export requires a CITES permit and a BKSDA recommendation that you must confirm yourself before shipping.**

This disclaimer explains what Gaharu Export does, the limits of that role, how you should read the information on this site, and how we handle your data. By using gaharuexport.com or contacting our trade desk, you accept the terms below.

What is Gaharu Export, and what is it not?

Gaharu Export is an information and sourcing service focused on Indonesian gaharu — the resin-rich wood known locally as gubal (the highest resin form) and kemedangan (lighter, lower-resin grades). We publish grading references, indicative pricing, and legality guidance, and we connect serious buyers with vetted plantation-based suppliers through the Bali Premium Trip trade desk.

We are a broker and information hub. We are not a government body, a certification authority, or a licensed adviser of any kind.

Gaharu Export IS Gaharu Export is NOT
A bilingual info hub on gaharu grading, pricing, and legality A CITES Management Authority or BKSDA office
A sourcing broker linking buyers to plantation suppliers The owner of the timber, plantation, or export licence
A publisher of indicative, dated market figures A licensed financial, legal, tax, or customs adviser
A concierge routing enquiries to a real trade desk A guarantor of permits, quotas, or shipment outcomes

Is Gaharu Export a CITES or BKSDA permit authority?

No. Aquilaria spp. — the tree that produces gaharu — is listed on CITES Appendix II. That means legal export requires proving legal origin and holding a valid CITES export permit. Under Indonesian practice as of 2026, that pathway typically involves a recommendation from the BKSDA (Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam) for wild-sourced material, documentation of cultivated origin through KLHK, ASGARIN membership, and a CITES export permit usually valid for up to about six months.

We can explain this pathway and help assemble a compliant sourcing package, but we do not issue permits, quotas, or recommendations, and nothing on this site is a permit or an approval. You must confirm current requirements directly with the CITES Management Authority (Indonesia) and with the competent authority in your import country before you buy or ship. Requirements change, and only those authorities can tell you what applies to your specific consignment.

Do you promote wild-harvested gaharu?

No. Gaharu Export is plantation-first. We focus on inoculated, cultivated Aquilaria and legally documented material. We do not promote, arrange, or knowingly facilitate illegal wild-harvest, undocumented timber, or any shipment that lacks the required CITES and BKSDA paperwork. If a supplier cannot evidence legal origin, we will not broker the deal.

Are the prices on this site accurate and guaranteed?

Prices are indicative only and change constantly with grade, resin content, aroma, sinking behaviour, origin, and buyer demand. Treat every figure as a dated reference point, not a quotation or an offer.

Our canonical site-wide band, as of 2026, is: plantation gaharu chips USD 500-7,000/kg (grade-dependent) and oud/agarwood oil USD 30,000-80,000/kg. These figures are indicative; a final quote confirms grade and scope. Third-party figures we cite — from UGM silviculture data, Indonesian market listings, CNBC Indonesia, and similar sources — are attributed with their dates and reflect the moment they were reported, not today’s spot price.

  • No figure here is a firm offer, a valuation, or investment advice.
  • A binding price exists only in a written quotation issued by the trade desk for a specific lot.
  • Currency conversions (USD/IDR) are approximate and move with the market; for context, Bank Indonesia’s reference rate stood at 5.25% as of July 2025, and rates shift.

Do you guarantee returns, approvals, or outcomes?

No. We do not guarantee investment returns, resale value, permit approval, customs clearance, delivery timelines, or any commercial outcome. Gaharu trading carries real regulatory, quality, and market risk. Any decision to buy, cultivate, or export is yours alone, made on your own due diligence. Nothing on gaharuexport.com is financial, legal, tax, or customs advice — for those, consult a licensed professional in the relevant jurisdiction.
